When doing standard therapy for depression many issues show up and it is difficult to navigate through them. Working through these issues one by one can take many years. Even if eventually successful with these issues, in many cases the depression still does not go away. There is a good reason for this. But there is another kind of therapy, which is both fast and deep. It resolves not only the issues but the underlying depression in one fell swoop.

We begin our lives being intuitive, happy and playful. Challenging circumstances of relationships and events in our youth frequently cause us to stop the flow of our intuition. When this happens many times, the blocking of intuition becomes a habit. With our intuition blocked we don’t feel alive any more.

It is simply impossible to be happy without the power, the joy and the guidance that intuition brings to your life. It is impossible to know who you are, what you like and what you truly want.

It is natural to be intuitive but we learn to block access to it. Lets say for example that we need love as children. If our parents do not give us love, we suffer. We start to believe that our intuitive need for love is not good. The truth is that our intuition was right and as children we have to be loved. But as a result of our mistaken perception we prevent ourselves from feeling the need for love. This becomes a habit and we end up disconnecting from our intuition.

And what a sad life it becomes. Without knowing what you want, how can you ever be happy? It is not surprising that people who had blocked their intuition now feel that their lives are meaningless. This is part of what depression is. Therapists have looked far and wide for its causes and solutions. The answer is closer and more natural than most think. The blocking of intuition creates depression and the unblocking of intuition eliminates it.

The intuitive approach to art therapy gives you a way to unblock your intuition in a very short time. There is no need to be an artist. You simply use the tools of art because they are more direct than words. With this method your intuition starts flowing immediately. It uncovers the blockages, dissolves them and guides you to meaningful living and happiness.

Blocked intuition brings about many secondary issues. For example: You may start to believe that you don’t deserve to be who you are and do what you want. You may believe that you are a bad person.

Some people respond to this early frustration with anger that turns outwards toward other people. Others, usually women, learn to turn their aggression inward and to punish themselves in different ways. All of this is another aspect of depression, which is a secondary effect. Even if you succeed in resolving this secondary outer or inner aggression, there will still be problems because the underlying lack of intuition will create new ones. So it is crucial to dissolve the habitual pattern of blocking intuition.

With the use of intuition in art therapy it is possible to bring the root cause to the surface right at the beginning of the therapy and dissolve it successfully. When we do this first, the anger and self punishment, along with many other possible secondary issues, become useless to the patient. They dissolve by themselves and there is no need to deal with them at all. This is how powerful intuitive art therapy is for depression.
